In case you missed it, @vanfootballclub FIRST-EVER HOME GAME a little over a year ago was a day to remember -- with over 6,000 fans in attendance to watch the lower mainland's newest professional soccer team in action. Heading into our second Canadian Premier League season, we're ready to take things to the next level with a revamped roster full of local stars!

Ahead of our 2024 Home Opener and LUSA Club Night on April 14th, 4PM @ the Langley Events Centre, we are excited to be launching our "Bring Your Team" packs -- giving our next generation of local stars the opportunity to attend Vancouver FC games all together at affordable prices. Starting at just $9 per player with a complimentary ticket for the head coach, we would love to see teams from LUSA represented at our Home Opener and beyond.

Langley United Soccer Association is delighted to announce a significant milestone in the realization of the NEW Smith Athletic Park.

Phase One sets the stage for our LUSA teams to grace the pitch as early as fall 2025. Looking ahead, Phase Two aligns with our 100-year centennial celebration and the eagerly anticipated arrival of the World Cup in 2026.

Good morning Coaches, Players and Families,

I wanted to take a moment to address to terrible weather we’re currently experiencing and the impact it’s had on our season thus far. As you know, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel several training sessions and 3 game days so far this year and we’re only 17 days in. Based on the current conditions and 7 day forecast it looks like we’re not done with the bad weather yet.

Please know that LUSA Staff are in constant contact with Township of Langley staff to ensure we have up to the minute field status reports. We, LUSA & the TOL do NOT want to close fields. Everyone involved wants to see our players outside enjoying the sport we all love. That said, please also know that the decision is ultimately a municipal one and not made at the club level. TOL close fields for two main reasons:

1) Unsafe conditions that may cause injury to someone using the field

2) Conditions that may have a severe impact on the playing surface itself.

We are extremely lucky to have as many artificial surfaces as we do in the TOL. It means we normally don’t get impacted by major rainfall the way other communities that rely on grass do; however, the negative is that those artificial surfaces are susceptible to damage when the turf is frozen. That is why we’ve seen as many closures as we have so far this year.

TOL Staff are making the call to close fields with the best intention of keeping our field safe and playable for the long term. I know it’s not easy to have to disappoint our players with another missed training or game, but it is necessary for the long-term durability of our beautiful facilities.

I would like to thank all of our Coaches, LUSA Staff & TOL Staff for all of their dedication over the past couple of weeks as they have been working round the clock to minimize the impact of this weather on all of us. Please find LUSA’s Field Status Policy below. We’re not out of the woods yet so stay warm and we’ll see you back out on the fields very soon!
